Open your home. Save a life.

Fostering is the single most powerful thing you can do for a rescue animal — and JKRC makes it easy, because we cover the costs. You just bring the love.

Every foster home means one more life saved

We have no shelter, so a foster home is often the difference between rescue and running out of time. When you foster, you free up space for us to say yes to the next animal in danger.

You give a scared, tired animal a soft bed, a full bowl, and the first calm nights they may have ever known. And when they find their forever family, you get to know you made it possible.

Thank you for your interest in fostering through JKRC Rescue! Please complete the application below as thoroughly as possible. Most applications are processed within 3–7 days, depending on how quickly references respond.

To help avoid delays, please notify your references and veterinarian that JKRC Rescue may be contacting them.

By submitting this application, you authorize JKRC Rescue to contact your veterinary office. Please notify your veterinary office that they have your permission to release this information to us.

Applications are often delayed because veterinary offices cannot release information without permission. Calling your veterinarian ahead of time can help speed up the approval process.

Please provide 3 references including their name, phone number and relationship to you.

Please read before submitting your application.

JKRC Rescue does not place dogs/cats on hold.

Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, but approval does not reserve a specific dog/cat. Your approved application may be used for another available pet that is a good fit.

Once approved, we will contact you to schedule a meet-and-greet with the dog/cat you are interested in. If the meet is successful and everyone is a good fit, you may proceed with fostering.

Because our dogs/cats continue meeting potential fosters throughout the approval process, we encourage applicants to be responsive and prepared.

Please also note that most JKRC animals are mixed breeds. Breed, expected adult size, and other characteristics are our best estimates based on the information available to us. Because parentage is often unknown, these estimates cannot be guaranteed.

By submitting this form you certify that the information provided is true and complete to the best of your knowledge.
